The first translated edition was published in Europe in 1884.
And though the translator, even back then, omitted the really controversial bits,
namely the passages pertaining to homosexuality,
it wasn't long before it was misinterpreted and denounced as a bawdy compendium of sexual practices.
And even today, more than a century later, it has a similar reputation.
For most people, the Kama Sutra is simply an amalgamation of sexual positions.
And that's a shame, because in reality it is so much more.
One could summarize it as a sexual ethical work of literature about love, life, eroticism and partnership.

The third describes mating rituals, courtship, even leading up to marriage.

In the star position, both partners experience very amorous sensations.
The man penetrates the woman from the side and additionally his upper leg is able to exert some pressure on her mound.
