This video is the fifth video in the One Room Challenge series showcasing the basics of the RenPy storytelling engine. This is by no means an in-depth look at the engine. It is just simply a primer for anybody that wants to learn how to use the engine to start telling stories. We will go deeper as we write our story and learn more about what we can do with this amazingly simplistic engine.

Dark Shepherd here and this is the,
well, kind of the fourth video in the One Room Challenge.
So we're going to be using Ren'Py
to actually build our story here.
And this is not really an in-depth,
I guess, demonstration of Ren'Py.
This is just kind of a very few basic things.
So in Ren'Py, you go to the actual website,
download, it's usually, I think, not usually,
but it's ****.4, I think, right now.
I'm using 7.4 for this demonstration.
But this is what you're gonna see
when you first open it.
And then we have the question and tutorial.
So we're gonna use the tutorial
as our demonstration for this project.
So when we start, we launch the project
and it will actually pop up on a different screen for me.
But we have this.
A lot of people, if you've played a Ren'Py novel,
you've seen this.
You know the start, load, preferences, all this stuff.
Preferences, all kinds of stuff in here.
But we start and, actually, I forgot to change that back.
But we have your basics of a Ren'Py novel.
We wanna go to preferences.
We can allow for skipping unseen text.
Go back out, hit control,
and we can just go through everything.
But that's not the point of what we're doing.
